ASMBS and Bariatric Clinical Guidelines
Gastric Bypass (RYGB/RNY), Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG/SG), and Duodenal Switch (DS) patients are recommended to take a high potency multi-vitamin that contains selenium and magnesium.
Quality absorbable form of nutrients should be used after bariatric surgery due to the absorption challenges of bariatric patients.

THEY STINK
Sam

The vitamins stink really bad. They’re very difficult to swallow because of the smell. But once I got them down, I would burp the taste up all day.. The smell is so strong that when we open the cabinet where I keep them smells the moment you open it. Unfortunately these are so bad that I cannot finish the bottle so I’ll be throwing them away. Money down the drain.

It stinks and tastes so badly. I absolutely struggle to take this and iron pills. But what can you do when you need it. So push water before and after and hope you don’t vomit.

Quality product w/ some caveats

I’ve used Bariatric Advantage since 2020. I started with the Ultra Multi but got tired of having to take multiple of them and switched to the Ultra Solo in 2022. My labs have always been great and I do believe this product helps with that. However, as other reviewers have noted, it is quite potent in smell and taste. Due to its potency, you must take this with food. In fact, I have to take it 10-15 min after finishing my meal b/c even taking it right at the start of the meal wasn’t allowing for enough food to neutralize the effect and prevent the intense nausea. But I do believe it’s manageable and worth it, once you figure out the best way to take it for you.

Love that it is once a day

Because this is taken once a day, the capsule is quite large (in my opinion) and none too tasty either. When I took it in the morning, I ended up getting heartburn (no food in stomach) so decided to take it in the evening after dinner which helped tremendously. No heartburn! I tried the chewable with iron first but I've always had trouble with iron so discontinued that (not to mention the not so tasty, chalky taste from having it in chewable form-no heartburn though). Trying this capsule one without iron to see how it goes. Once a day seems to work for me. This is much better than taking several other vitamins later in the day and believe I am saving money as well. Hopefully my yearly labs will show all good. Still working on the calcium chews 3x/day though but that's a whole other story......
